Officer Gunter is a 2007 graduate of USC Aiken, where he studied history and minored in sociology. He came to the Bishopville Police Department in 2011 after spending three years at Robert E. Lee Academy, where he taught history and government. Officer Gunter also coached baseball and football at REL. Before coming to REL, he spent two years coaching baseball at Ben Lippen School in Columbia and was an assistant coach for the 2006 state runner-up, and 2007 state championship teams. Officer Gunter graduated from the first 12 week class in South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy history, where he finished second in his class with a 94.7 average. Officer Gunter is also a certified Standardized Field Sobriety Test instructor.
