October, November and December 2009 were busy months for the Bishopville Police Department

A home on Ridge Street was burglarized and a Lamar man arrested in connection with that. Once in custody police identified him as the one that burglarized the Bangkok restaurant months earlier.

April Events around town

  • Chief’s Liquor on West Council Was burglarized during April and a 16 year old juvenile has been charged for the offence.
  • Although not in the city limits, the baseball field’s brand new concession stand was also broken into and the person’s involved have been apprehended. Among these individual are adults and minors.
  • The Piggly-wiggly and Food Lion suffered the loss of around $1500 relating to a single repeat shoplifter. He was subsequently caught on security video three times in the Piggly-Wiggly and upon positive identification, arrested. He has since pled guilty to his trespassing and shoplifting violations at the Piggly-Wiggly and received 7 consecutive 30 sentences.
  • This same individual was also charged for larceny, in connection with a grill that was taken from West Church Street.

Between February 20, 2009 and September 28, 2009, someone entered the Boatwright Funeral Home and stole a quantity of cash and other items. September 2009

On the night of the 19th a suspect entered the Bishopville Drug Company and removed several containers of controlled substance. The suspect breeched a rear wall and gained access to the pharmacy.

07-22-2009

Between 12:30am and 1:00am this morning, someone broke into the Cotton Museum and took the donation Jar. The jar had an undetermined amount of money in it. This is the second time the Museum has been burglarized for the purpose of taking this jar. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bishopville Police (803-484-5309) or Crime Stoppers (1-888-CRIME-SC)

The Lee County Parks and Rec was broken into last night.
Nothing was taken, but the intruder managed to damange about $300 inproperty.


The woman below has passed bad, forged, and stolen checks at the Food Lion in Bishopville. If you know who she is, please contact the Bishopville Police or CrimeStoppers.
